Today I’m sharing with you another great and unique toy to add to your Christmas shopping list; Roominate! Roominate was named the #1 toy of 2014 by TIME Magazine and reminds me in a way of GoldieBlox that I shared the other week – but in its own way, it’s different.
Roominate, again created by 2 female engineers who wanted to inspire young girls to be excited about engineering and eager to learn more! I love Roominate from the get go because I connected with their thought process and education experiences. I, too, was in a program where it was mostly males and being the only female in a program can have its challenges, but I loved when i saw new females entering the program!
Roominate has a variety of building sets, each that teach:
- Hands-On Problem Solving
- Fine Motor Skills
- Self-Confidence
- Creativity
- Basic Circuitry

Roommate blends together the concepts of building, design, crafts, storytelling and creativity to create, in a way, your own dollhouse. What makes this different from other building sets? Well, with a little motor and light circuit building, you can create moving parts such as an elevator, fan, etc.

We received the Roominate Studio, which includes 70-pieces (4 wall/floor panels, 24 furniture building pieces, 16 connectors, a motor, switch, battery pack, screwdriver, doll, pet, and 20 sheets of craft paper.)
I think this is a great gift idea for any little girl (boys too!) that want to create and explore more than just building blocks. I love how there are some new toys, such as Roominate, that will really inspire a new generation of children!
Lucky for one of you, I am giving away the Roominate Studio building set! Use the rafflecopter widget below to enter and win. Giveaway open to 18+, US residents and is open until December 20th.
