Family is important and sometimes the holidays are the only times we have to really spend some quality time. Here’s a list for some of the best things to do with that often limited time:
1. Spending some time with them IN PERSON- More than anything, just go and see them!
2. Eating too many cookies with them- Yeah. Do it.
3. Eating too much chocolate with them- Eating is bonding. And chocolate is delicious.
4. Good ol’ Fun in the Sun- Maybe it snows at home for you, maybe it doesn’t. But it’s still great to get outside with the fam, and get some fresh air. Sledding, walking the dog, whatever you can!
5. Fighting over what movies to watch- Sometimes it’s DVDs, sometimes it’s Netflix, but ALWAYS state your case.
6. Listening to classic Holiday music… On an FM radio- Bring it back to childhood and simpler times.
7. Spreading Holiday cheer… IN PERSON!- Your neighbors will be more appreciative of a visit than your twitter followers will be from a tweet.
8. Playing with new gifts and gadgets- Gotta try out the new loot with someone! Making everyone feel included during these times is just heartwarming.
9. Some healthy competition- Whether it’s sports, card games, video games, or mind games, nothing brings you back like that classic competition. Beat your mom or dad or sister or brother at what they think they’re the best at.. if you can!
10. Watch the NFL or NBA- The NFL matchups for Thanksgiving day are really good ones this year. Same goes for the NBA matchups on Christmas day. Maybe your whole family isn’t the biggest sports family, but at least it’s a reason to all get around the tube, together.
