Your bridesmaids certainly deserve thanks for all they contribute to your wedding. They purchase dresses they will in all likelihood never wear again, throw you showers and parties, pitch in uncomplainingly with wedding preparations, travel and maybe even take some time off work, pose for pictures all day long, wear themselves out on the dance floor making sure even your grumpy old uncle has a good time, and above all, make sure you have everything you need on your special day. Here are three ways to thank your tireless bridesmaids with gifts that they will appreciate and treasure on your wedding day and after.
Practical
One way to treat your bridesmaids is to give them gifts they can use in your wedding. My sister-in-law gave us all makeup that we could use to doll ourselves up for her wedding, including eye shadow that matched our dresses. I gave my bridesmaids handmade necklaces I ordered from an artisan friend, while a friend of mine gave her bridesmaids shawls to wear during her autumn wedding. Purses to carry at the wedding, manicures or pedicures, or even the dresses themselves (if you have that kind of cash) are other practical bridesmaid gift ideas. If you choose to go the practical route, you might consider giving your gifts early or sending out a "heads up" so that your bridesmaids don't purchase their own accessories.
